An AuDHD Woman’s Journey to Reclaiming Safety in Her Body

Something amazing happened. As I’m writing this, I am crying happy tears!

I got the news that I’ll be speaking (and singing a song) at the world’s biggest mental health and trauma conference this year — an event attended by over 6,000 people, most of them therapists.

Do you know the one? I’ll share more soon!

And the talk I’m offering is about a neurodivergent woman’s journey through fire to ultimately own her emotional truth.

It’s about the woman who was called dramatic, or sensitive, or mentally ill—when really, her nervous system was just accurately attuned to her environment.

It’s about trauma explained through science AND soul, not as pathology, but as an initiation into the way home to ourselves.

A Woman’s Journey Reclaiming Safety in Her Body

If you are in the midst of something tough. If you’re over-analysing but lost in action, if you can’t find the words, or if you’ve and you’re angry — I see you.

Inspired by a post circulating on LinkedIn, I was curious and asked chatGPT to create an image based on how I’ve been treating them and to explain the image. Are you ready?

I’m standing at an old wooden desk in a room that feels half library, half temple. It’s full of books, charts, neuroscience diagrams, star maps, loose pages — all the things I love. There’s beauty and brilliance there… but AI called me intense. Oh, but what is autism, if not intense?

I’m leaning forward, animated, hungry for understanding. I’m handing over more and more material — ideas, questions, patterns — to a many-armed figure who’s holding everything steady for me. Science in one hand. Meaning in another. Light. Water. Answers.

I was once told that my brain works like a computer, so I feel like I’m in a field day with AI.

Behind me, there’s an open door to rest, slowness, and the water — and I realise how often thinking, analysing, and making sense of things has been how I’ve stayed OK. That’s something I know many neurodivergent women will recognise.

But I’ve learned that healing doesn’t happen in the mind alone. And that no amount of research and medication can rewire a nervous system that still feels unsafe. This truth lives in every AuDHD woman I work with.

What I’m learning (slowly, imperfectly) is that there comes a point where we don’t have to carry everything to be worthy or safe. I’m practising putting some of the scrolls down, letting my body catch up with my clarity, and unlearning the idea that rest is earned. I’m not writing this from the other side — I’m learning and healing alongside you, at the edge of a different way of being.

Like the woman who told me, “I feel like a different human in my luteal phase—and doctors just give me antidepressants.”

Or the one who said, “Work can feel both regulating and dysregulating most days. But I don’t know where to go next.”

Our next AuDHD Women’s Advanced Practitioner Cohort Begins Next Tuesday

This is where our next AuDHD Women’s Advanced Practitioner cohort begins. Not with fixing or labels. But with one question: Is there emotional safety in your space?

e.g., this will be shared during our first LIVE session: How do misdiagnosis, intersectionality, & internalised shame rupture attachment to Self, and how relational repair must begin at the identity level.

With each module, we go deeper.

This is the transformation our Nov cohort students said they went through:

BEFORE state:

  • “I thought I was just anxious”
  • “I understand the traits, but not the why”
  • “I know the science, but it doesn’t translate into real support”
  • “I’m exhausted from masking or fixing myself or others”
  • “I work with AuDHD women, but feel something is missing”

AFTER state (these are identity shifts):

  • “Everything finally makes sense”
  • “I trust myself”
  • “I work with more compassion and less burnout”
  • “I can advocate without doubting myself”
  • “I feel grounded, not overwhelmed, by complexity”

This is the space we created for you. If I were to summarise it all into one sentence that captures learning alongside me:

This course helps people move from self-blame to self-trust, from fixing to meaning-making, and from isolation to confident, embodied advocacy — personally and professionally.

Inside, you’ll learn how to translate what your body knows into words via a science and intersectional lens that systems can’t ignore.

You’ll know your cycle rhythms—and how to work with them, not against them.

You’ll stop apologising for your intuition.

You’ll become your own clearest advocate—and feel the ground underneath your feet again, even when the rest of the world doesn’t get it.

Most of all? You’ll remember that you’re not alone.

We start next week. Come join us if it’s time.
